REGISTERED NURSE (RN), CLINICAL NURSE EDUCATOR, YOUTH SHORT TERM ASSESSMENT AND RESPONSE (Y STAR)

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in Prince George. Core Responsibilities

Identifies, plans, compiles and delivers training sessions for staff to assist them in meeting key competencies in compliance with scope. Compiles, implements and evaluates general and unit specific orientation and education programs for staff. Facilitates the development and ongoing maintenance of the department’s preceptorship/mentorship programs. Participates in the ongoing review and revision of patient care standards, policies and procedures and coordinates in‑service programs aimed at meeting the continuing educational needs of staff. Qualifications

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing plus recent related experience and formal experience in teaching/learning and curriculum development. Three to five years experience in the area of clinical focus. Three (3) or more years of child and youth mental health experience. Current CPR certification. Valid BC driver’s licence. Current practicing registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives. Willingness to travel. Shift rotation: Monday to Friday, days, 08:00‑16:00. Skills and Abilities

Management – manages time and resources, promotes cooperation among relevant others, supervises responsibilities of others, collaborates across disciplines. Knowledge Integration – uses factual information, prior learning and basic principles to support decisions and actions with relevant research‑based evidence. Human Caring and Relationship‑Centered Practice – promotes client‑focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant others, is sensitive to diverse cultures and preferences, client advocacy and social justice concerns. Communication – effectively communicates with clients, families, the public, medical staff, and the interdisciplinary team via verbal, written and computer means. Critical Thinking – integrates and evaluates pertinent data from multiple sources to problem‑solve effectively. Teaching – transmits information intended to instruct clients and others about topics essential to health care and well‑being. Assessment and Intervention – completes initial and ongoing client assessments and provides nursing care through appropriate technical, therapeutic or safety‑type interventions. Technical – operates related equipment and utilizes computer technology. Physical ability – performs the duties of the position. Benefits
