Clinical Assistant (Ottawa)

Role Responsibilities

Supports the Clinical Director or Physician as an extension within the physician‑patient relationship, performing controlled acts delegated by the physician. Collaborates with Physician, nurses, skilled staff, and others to ensure quality of patient care. Develops ethical, professional, trustworthy relationships with patients, families, and the health care team. Provides patient care consistent with True Care’s mission and core values. Assists in conducting initial patient consultations and follow‑up visits for cycle monitoring, and educates patients about fertility treatment options and procedures after the investigative cycle. Reviews files and discusses next steps in the treatment plan with the treating physician. Performs IUI procedures if delegated by the Doctor. Offers emotional support to patients throughout their fertility journey and addresses any concerns or questions. Maintains accurate, detailed patient records, including medical histories, test results, treatment plans, and progress notes. Assists the Doctor during procedures and performs delegated orders under Supervision, follows up, and reviews results after receiving instructions. Conducts administrative tasks including review and audits of abnormal labs and imaging reports. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Formal Education or Equivalent:

Graduate of a recognized Physician Assistant program or equivalent. Additional training or degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology is an asset. Membership in the Canadian Association of the Physician Assistants (CAPA) is an asset. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

Experience:

1+ years equivalent experience in a similar role. Ability to work in an interprofessional healthcare environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to function collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and practice in a self‑directed manner.
