Laboratory Technologist at CHEO Ottawa
Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario
Join CHEO as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in Ottawa, specializing in biochemistry and high throughput testing. Ensure accuracy and compliance while performing laboratory procedures. This position is represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU). You will operate and maintain laboratory equipment, perform tests, and troubleshoot technical issues. Candidates with experience in method development and optimization are highly valued. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory procedures following established protocols
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment effectively
- Identify and address unusual test results promptly
- Adhere to safety regulations and quality assurance programs
- Provide coverage and assistance to laboratory staff as needed
- Active registration as a technologist with CMLTO
- MSc or BSc in a relevant field
- Minimum 1 year experience in biochemistry laboratory
- Proficient in mass spectrometry and chromatography
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
