Position Overview
Full‑time Contract Academic Staff – Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical) in the Department of Neurology & Neurosurgery, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, McGill University. Three‑year renewable appointment, not for tenure, 50% clinical / 50% research (or 30/70) at the Montreal Neurological Institute‑Hospital (MNI‑H).
Job Duties
- Provide clinical care in restorative neurosurgery, specifically brain/spine computer interface development.
- Engage in academic teaching and supervision of residents and medical students.
- Lead and conduct research in spine neurosurgery, participating in multidisciplinary projects and securing protected research time.
- Contribute to departmental service activities, committees, and the university’s scholarly community.
- Support and advance McGill’s equity, diversity, and inclusion commitments in all areas of work.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- MD and eligibility for neurosurgical licensure in Quebec.
- Advanced training and demonstrated capacity in academic neurosurgery, especially restorative neurosurgery and brain/spine computer interface development.
- Strong research program and ability to pursue scholarly activities in clinical care or clinical research.
- Clinician‑scientists with MD‑PhD or comparable research training encouraged.
- Robust commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English preferred; ability to practice medicine in Quebec.
