Senior Development Officer, Atlantic Region

Breakthrough T1D is searching for an experienced fundraiser for the role of Senior Development Officer. If you’re a strategic, relationship-driven and result-oriented fundraising professional who would like to support peer-to-peer and donor fundraising initiatives across the Atlantic Region, build meaningful donor and volunteer partnerships, and drive revenue that advances a life changing mission. Here’s what your primary responsibilities would be:

• Achieving and exceeding fundraising targets for peer-to-peer fundraising events
• Implement fundraising best practices to achieve and exceed revenue and participation targets for peer-to-peer fundraising events, through a high volume of calls and meetings to new, lapsed, and current participants and prospects
• Identify opportunities and develop relationships with key event participants, corporate contacts, volunteers, and influential community members
• Inspire, motivate, and engage event participants
• Maintain comprehensive records of participant/donor interactions using a CRM database and other systems
• Participate in and attend special events and community engagement activities to represent Breakthrough T1D and promote Breakthrough T1D’s mission and fundraising goals.
• Build and manage a portfolio of annual, monthly, and mid-level donors in various stages of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship and ensure appropriate movement through the pipeline to achieve revenue targets

 

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

• 2-3 years of fundraising experience and a University or College degree in Business Administration, Communications, Fundraising or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience working on peer-to-peer fundraising events
• Ability to solicit donors, coach fundraisers, secure commitments, and steward volunteers and committees.
• Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to interact meaningfully with donors, families, colleagues, and businesses
• Experience using CRM databases and Microsoft Office to manage relationships and fundraising activities.

Other position requirements to note:

• Bilingual in English and French is a strong asset
• Some flexibility to travel throughout the region (15%) and to attend evening and weekend events.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to represent Breakthrough T1D professionally at fundraising, community and donor events.
• Comfortable working remotely and managing a regional portfolio.

 

The salary range for this role is anticipated to be $58,000 - $63,000, commensurate with skills and experience level of the selected candidate.

Location Preference: Preferred in the Atlantic Canada region to effectively build and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, event committees and community partners across the region.
