Group Manager, Insider Risk Specialized Investigations (4762) (Markham)

Job Overview

This role leads a highly specialized team responsible for complex, high‑impact investigations involving employer‑related financial crime risk. The successful candidate will bring strong people leadership, sound risk judgment, and deep AML investigative expertise to ensure high‑quality, defensible outcomes in a highly regulated environment. This is an opportunity to shape strategy, strengthen controls, and work closely with partners across investigations, detection, and insider threat functions while protecting the bank, our colleagues, and our customers. Responsibilities

Manage and lead a team of specialized professionals in the analysis and/or investigation process for a specific area, assigning and monitoring caseloads to minimize potential regulatory risks and losses to the bank. Lead daily operations, develop business/objective goals, and deliver quality service and transaction processing consistent with business objectives. Provide guidance and direction to team members, review and assess incoming files, and allocate them to appropriate investigators or investigative specialists. Conduct investigations in the capacity of a working lead on cases that have been specifically assigned, ensuring proper analysis and investigation standards are followed. Prepare applicable documents based on criminal and/or non‑criminal proceedings. Collaborate with counterparts from other institutions and/or external organizations (e.g., public sector, government, law enforcement) to gather intelligence information when necessary. Ensure investigations are professionally conducted and completed in a timely manner. Identify and communicate procedural weaknesses to businesses, and ensure processes for remediation are in place, including follow‑up for corrective action where applicable. Maintain strong awareness of emerging trends and investigative techniques relevant to own area of specialty. Represent the department on internal projects or committees for own specialized area as needed. Work closely with business lines, corporate and/or control functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and regulatory requirements. Lead relationships with stakeholders, business sponsors, executives and line‑of‑business units, ensuring effective communication and remediation of risks. Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supporting effective processes aligned with risk appetite. Qualifications

Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in AML investigations, risk or related fields. Proven experience leading and developing high‑performing teams. Strong knowledge of investigative techniques, protocol and financial criminal trends. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to present and make recommendations to senior management and executives. Employment Information
