As Sous Chef, you will be a key leader within the culinary team , directly contributing to the quality of our dishes, the development of our associates and the overall guest experience.

Reporting directly to the Executive Chef , you will play a key role in the leadership and performance of our culinary operations.

You will be responsible for leading the kitchen operations in the Executive Chef's absence , ensuring smooth service and maintaining high culinary and operational standards.

Your day-to-day will be varied and dynamic, covering Il Soffio Restaurant, banquets, events, breakfast operations and hotel culinary services .

• Support the Executive Chef in the planning, development and execution of menus

• Supervise the culinary brigade and ensure operational continuity in the Chef's absence

• Ensure the quality, consistency and presentation of all dishes

• Maintain Marriott culinary and service standards

• Organize and coordinate the culinary team's workflow to ensure efficient service

• Train, coach and develop team members

• Create a positive, respectful and collaborative work environment

• Ensure compliance with food safety and MAPAQ standards

• Assist with inventory management, purchasing and stock counts

• Monitor food costs and contribute to waste reduction initiatives

• Participate in banquets, buffets, special events and culinary initiatives

• Work closely with Banquets, Sales, Front Office and Operations teams

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of recipes, processes and culinary operations

• Good knowledge of food safety and MAPAQ standards

• Functional proficiency in both French and English , spoken and written

• Availability primarily for evening shifts

• Availability to work some weekends, holidays and special events , based on operational needs

• Professionalism, autonomy, strong organizational skills and a team-oriented mindset
