Employment: Student employment from May 4th, 2026, to August 21st, 2026.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Executive Director CPF AB & NWT, the students’ primary project for the summer is to help re-develop the branch website.

Your main responsibilities will be to assist and help:

• Re-developing the branch website.


• The logistics and operations of “Camping en Francais” event in north-central Alberta during the summer of 2026. 


• Planning of the Falling into French Family Weekend taking place in the fall of 2026. 


• Developing a virtual annual general meeting (AGM) format.


• Performing daily administration duties. This includes, but is not limited to, answering the phone, dealing with mail, checking and responding to emails, dealing with inquiries from stakeholders, operating a computer and other office equipment. 


• Communicating with stakeholders, volunteers and other staff. 


• Locating, gathering, organizing information, analyzing and applying information using appropriate technology and information systems. 

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

Student position (37.5 hrs/wk) from May 4th, 2026, to August 21st, 2026. The salary for this position is set at $18.00/hr plus four (4) percent added to teach paycheck.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

• Strong working knowledge of WordPress and able to competently work with other common digital tools, including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Outlook), JotForm and the internet as a research tool.


• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French and English.


• Currently enrolled in post-secondary studies in computer sciences, communications program, education, business, languages, association management, or a similar field. Can also be a graduate of one of these programs.

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA

• Candidates must legally be entitled to work in Canada.


• Experience in the not-for-profit sector, member or volunteer-driven organizations, is considered an asset.


• Supports promoting learning of both official languages and a bilingual Canada.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• Remote/hybrid Work Model – The CPF AB & NWT office allows a remote/hybrid working model for this position according to the CPF National Employee Handbook.


• The Regular office hours are between 8:30 to 4:30 MST, Monday to Friday. The person must have the ability to work evenings and weekends as required. The position might require travelling.


• May involve occasional light physical tasks (e.g., lifting office supplies or equipment up to 20 lbs).

RÉSUMÉ DU POSTE 

Relevant de la direction générale de CPF AB & TNO, le principal projet de l’étudiant(e) pour l’été sera de contribuer à la refonte du site web de la direction régionale.

Vous aurez notamment à assister et contribuer à:

• La refonte du site web de la direction régionale.


• La logistique et les opérations de l’événement « Camping en français » dans le centre-nord de l’Alberta à l’été 2026.


• La planification du week-end familial « Falling into French » prévu à l’automne 2026.


• Le développement d’un format virtuel pour l’assemblée générale annuelle (AGA).


• Les tâches administratives quotidiennes, incluant notamment : répondre au téléphone, gérer le courrier, traiter les courriels, répondre aux demandes des parties prenantes, utiliser un ordinateur et d’autres équipements de bureau.


• La communication avec les parties prenantes, les bénévoles et les autres membres du personnel.


• La recherche, la collecte, l’organisation, l’analyse et l’application d’informations à l’aide de technologies et de systèmes d’information appropriés.

CONDITIONS D’EMPLOI

Poste étudiant (37,5 heures/semaine) du 4 mai 2026 au 21 août 2026. Le salaire est fixé à 18,00 $/heure, plus une indemnité de vacances de 4 % ajoutée à chaque paie.

QUALIFICATIONS ET COMPÉTENCES CLÉS

• Bonne maîtrise de WordPress et capacité à utiliser efficacement d’autres outils numériques courants, notamment les applications Microsoft Office (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Outlook), JotForm et Internet comme outil de recherche.


• Excellentes compétences en communication orale et écrite en français et en anglais.


• Être actuellement inscrit(e) à un programme d’études postsecondaires en informatique, communications, éducation, administration, langues, gestion associative ou domaine connexe, ou être diplômé(e) de l’un de ces programme.
  

CRITÈRES SUPPLÉMENTAIRES

• Être légalement autorisé(e) à travailler au Canada.


• Une expérience dans le secteur sans but lucratif ou dans des organisations axées sur les membres ou les bénévoles est un atout.


• Appuyer la promotion de l’apprentissage des deux langues officielles et du bilinguisme au Canada.
  

ENVIRONNEMENT DE TRAVAIL

• Modèle de travail hybride/télétravail selon le manuel national des employés de CPF.


• Heures normales de bureau : de 8 h 30 à 16 h 30 (heure des Rocheuses), du lundi au vendredi.


• Capacité de travailler en soirée et les fins de semaine au besoin.


• Le poste peut nécessiter des déplacements.


• Peut inclure occasionnellement des tâches physiques légères (ex. : soulever du matériel de bureau jusqu’à 20 lb.
