Senior Legal Counsel - Energy Projects

Become a Senior Legal Counsel specialized in Energy and Infrastructure projects with our esteemed Legal Affairs team in Canada. Deliver legal expertise that drives the success of major environmental initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will provide in-depth legal support throughout project lifecycles, emphasizing the negotiation and drafting of complex contracts. Collaborating with project teams and advising on risk management will be key aspects of your responsibilities. You'll also be engaged in reviewing service proposals and ensuring compliance with effective governance practices while managing disputes alongside Claims and Litigation teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex contract negotiations within energy sector
- Provide legal advice to support project execution
- Draft, review, and enhance legal documents and agreements
- Evaluate project risks for internal governance discussions
- Work collaboratively on legal disputes with Claims teams
- Active member of the Canadian provincial Bar (3+ years)
- Extensive experience with construction and engineering agreements
- Strong understanding of project delivery models
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Bilingual abilities preferred (English and French)
