Registered Nurse for Mental Health Care

Join Vancouver General Hospital as a Mental Health and Substance Use Nurse specializing in individualized nursing care. This full-time position focuses on therapeutic rehabilitation for clients with severe mental illnesses. As a Temporary Full Time Registered Nurse at the Segal Family Health Centre, you will provide direct care, support discharge planning, and facilitate case coordination for patients with concurrent disorders. Your role will involve collaboration with healthcare providers and educating clients and their families to ensure effective treatment planning. Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver assessments and interventions for rehabilitation
• Develop and evaluate treatment plans with the team
• Administer medications and monitor client responses
• Maintain comprehensive client records and participate in quality improvement
• Provide mentorship to new staff within the team Requirements:
• Current RN or RPN registration in British Columbia
• 240-hour practicum in a mental health setting
• Knowledge of concurrent disorders and harm-reduction strategies
• Skills in crisis intervention and individualized care
• Proficient in documentation and educational program delivery Enhance therapeutic outcomes through your specialized nursing expertise at Vancouver General Hospital.
