Your Opportunity: The Medicine Portfolio at Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC) is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, experienced and independent leader to join our quality and safety-oriented team. PLC is a 600-bed adult acute care hospital located in northeast Calgary, Alberta, Canada and is operated by Alberta Health Services. The PLC offers both inpatient and outpatient services to a variety of medical, surgical, pediatric and women's health patients. The Medicine Portfolio provides health services to patients with complex medical issues in accordance with best practice and accreditation standards. This passionate group of health care leaders is seeking a quality improvement expert familiar with acute care service delivery and who brings a toolkit to support us on our continuous improvement journey. Description
The Medicine Portfolio Quality Lead (QL) is responsible for collaboratively improving patient and staff safety, quality and experience outcomes by understanding performance metrics, identifying improvement opportunities, and leading quality projects and initiatives to achieve strategic goals for the portfolio and foster a culture of continuous quality improvement. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a health care discipline, business, administration, or leadership. If the degree is in a health care discipline, candidate must be in good standing with their professional college/regulatory body. Quality/process improvement certification equivalent to AIW or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Additional Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years experience working in or with acute health care. Minimum of 3 years experience applying quality/process improvement methodologies and project management. Demonstrated leadership and group facilitation skills, innovation, strategic planning, and expertise in QI methodology. Strong negotiation and influencing skills in complex socio-political environments to build and sustain successful partnerships with broad stakeholder groups. Proven ability to work independently with guidance only required in the most complex situations. Excellence in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and communication. Advanced computer software knowledge related to databases, spreadsheets/pivot charts and tables, flow charts, process mapping, data analysis, word processing, and related applications. Clear pattern of personal and professional development. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a health care discipline, business, administration, or leadership. Professional level QI toolkit and associated body of knowledge, process skills and tools (certification equivalent to AIW or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt). Change management certification (e.g., Prosci). Project management certification (e.g., PMP). Previous work experience in Quality Management and Program Evaluation an asset.
