Senior Clinical Fellow in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

The shift pattern for this post is Mon – Fri 9 -5 plus on call

This is a Fixed term post for 12 months.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.

During the fellowship, you will be exposed to a wider variety of cases and encouraged to develop your own skillset while in the department. You will be based in trauma, with a possibility to undertake an oncology fellowship later in the post.

We are recruiting motivated individuals to join our department as senior clinical fellow’s (ST7 level), starting from August 2026 for a period of 12 months. These post’s are suitable for candidates wishing to widen their experience of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. As one of the largest and busiest units in the UK the range of work encompasses the whole remit of OMFS; adult and paediatric craniofacial surgery, all aspects of cleft care, facial deformity, facial trauma and head and neck oncology. We welcome applications from those who have completed or are nearing completion of their own higher surgical training programme wishing to gain additional subspecialty experience. For those with an interest in research there are excellent opportunities.

The successful candidates will be expected to participate on the regional on call rota.

Candidates must have (or be eligible for) full registration with the General Medical Council and have a license to practice.

This post does not have educational approval and will not be formally recognised for training. However candidates will be expected to maintain a logbook and have relevant appraisal for the 6-12 months.

The CREST form must be completed by a consultant who has worked with you for a minimum continuous period of three months whole-time equivalent wholly within the 3.5 years prior to the advertised post start date for which you are applying.
