The Role
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Glasgow Clinical Research Facility Project Assistant– Band 4
The Glasgow Clinical Research Facility incorporates Clinical Research Facilities at the QEUH/RHC and GRI. With satellite units at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Gartnavel General Hospital and the Dental Hospital. Jointly they provide a streamlined service to investigators to conduct their clinical research efficiently and safely
We are recruiting a motivated, organised and enthusiastic Project Assistant who as part of a multidisciplinary team will provide comprehensive administrative and technical support to Investigators and members of the mental health research team. You will work closely with the Quality team and Research Nurse Manager to assist the study team in providing specialist research to research participants and regularly work unsupervised throughout various locations/GCRF sites.
The Clinical Research Facility has cover from 0800-1700 Monday to Friday, predominantly the hours are 0830- 1630 but there is a requirement to take a flexible approach in order to meet the needs of mental health research studies and the mood disorders research clinic.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
This is a fixed term post until 31 January 2028, 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be considered Secondment or Job-share opportunity
The role is based at Institute of Neurological Science, QEUH, G51 4TF. The ability to travel between all sites within NHS GGC is also essential.
The shift pattern is Monday to Friday 08:30 – 16:30 (Flexibility to meet service needs).
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Provide administrative support to the Glasgow Mood Disorders Research Clinic as directed by the clinic leads
- Provide a dedicated, professional project assistant service to research personnel to support to the management of the project outcomes.
- Effectively co-ordinate specified components of research projects utilising time management and organisational skills.
- As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will provide project specific technical support for patients or healthy volunteers in a range of research protocols and will regularly work unsupervised.
- Contribute to the provision of a high quality, safe and supportive environment in order to care for patients within the Glasgow Clinical Research Facility (GCRF).
- Co-ordinate and effectively manage identified components to ensure appropriate resources are in place to support projects.
Requirements
- Previous clerical/administration experience or recognized qualification in administration
- Previous relevant NHS or other relevant experience in a care environment.
- Ability to use MS Outlook and applications proficiently
- Effective written and verbal communication /literacy/numeracy skills
- Evidence of team working skills with an ability to work using own initiative.
- Ability to carry out complex technical tasks in a busy environment.
- Ability to work travel across hospital sites in NHS GGC.
