This is a Fixed term post for 6 Months
This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team as a Clinical Fellow in Renal transplantation and renal failure surgery, based in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Glasgow. The post is for 6 months in the first instance and extendable depending on performance. The post involves clinical work within the West of Scotland Renal Transplant Unit and one of Europe s busiest renal failure surgical services. The posts will involve support of the
(currently 1 in 7, 24 hour partial shift) on call rota, elective surgery MDT and clinic duty which will also include the departmental general surgical activity.
This is a clinical fellow post working at registrar level with a focus on provision of renal transplantation and advanced vascular access surgery. The position encompasses ward, clinic and operating theatre duties. The unit offers the successful candidate a unique opportunity to gain and build experience in renal transplant, vascular access surgery and general surgery whilst in post. There is a living donor program. There is a thriving audit and research output from the unit, which the candidate would be encouraged to contribute to.
The post is suitable for candidates with transplant and/or vascular surgical experience at senior registrar level or post CCT. The unit is a world leading centre in vascular access surgery, and would afford the opportunity for the successful candidate to gain unique exposure and skills.
