Clinical Specialist Therapist

The Role

A Band 6 Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist working within WestMARC to deliver specialist mobility and rehabilitation support across the West of Scotland. The post focuses on maximising mobility, independence and quality of life for people of all ages with a wide range of conditions.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

Permanent, full‑time position

Base location - Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Campus, with travel across the West of Scotland.

Shift Pattern - 8.30-4.30

Key Responsibilities

• Specialist assessment — assessing, prescribing, providing and reviewing complex mobility and rehabilitation equipment.
• Promoting independence — enabling mobility, participation and independence across all life stages.
• Working across settings — delivering care in clinical environments, community venues and patients’ homes.
• Multidisciplinary teamwork — contributing effectively within a wider MDT.
• Policy‑informed practice — applying relevant local and national policies.
• Service development — engaging in quality improvement, service development and ongoing CPD.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
• HCPC registration (current).
• Strong core therapeutic skills with relevant post‑qualification experience.
• Confidence working in clinical, community and domiciliary settings.
• Excellent communication skills and a patient‑centred approach.
• Full driving licence.
