Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist

The Role

You must hold a degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy and be HCPC registered.

You will work autonomously within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, managing a complex caseload and delivering person-centred care. The role offers variety across clinical environments, including hospital, community and domiciliary settings. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• WestMARC, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Campus
• The shift pattern is 08:30 to 16:30
• Fixed-term for 1 year
• Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a specialist caseload delivering assessment, treatment and evaluation to maximise patient independence
• Provide expert assessment and prescription of wheelchairs, postural support and pressure care equipment
• Work autonomously to analyse complex clinical presentations and deliver evidence-based interventions
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate with patients, carers and external agencies
• Supervise and support students, therapy assistants and contribute to staff learning and development
• Participate in clinical audits, service improvement initiatives and research activities
• Undertake domiciliary visits and work across a wide geographical area within the West of Scotland

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy with current HCPC registration
• Demonstrates relevant post-registration experience with evidence of continuing professional development
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex physical disabilities, neurological conditions and rehabilitation
• Knowledge and experience of wheelchair provision, pressure care and postural management
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information sensitively
• Ability to travel across the West of Scotland to meet service needs (we are committed to inclusivity and fairness and will consider reasonable adjustments and alternative arrangements where required)
