Occupational Therapist (permanent Full Time)

Complex discharge planning skills are a key requirement to enable timely and safe discharges from the ward.
The role will include evaluation, audit projects, staff / student supervision / induction and providing expert advice on OT interventions.
All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Location based in Queen Elizabeth University Hospital

Full-time position (36 hours per week)
Shift pattern for this post are 5 out of 7 days a week
To assess capacity, gain valid consent and has the ability to work within a legal framework with patients who lack the capacity to consent.
Act independently to assess and analyse individual patients to determine their need for occupational therapy intervention within specialist area of stroke through client centred practice.
This will include patients with multiple pathologies and complex clinical presentation.
Act independently to plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patient care to maximise their rehabilitation potential – including decision making regarding discharge from care.
Manage an identified caseload of patients effectively and efficiently for occupational therapy intervention.
May be identified as a key worker within the inter-disciplinary team for goal planning.
Keep abreast of developments in occupational therapy and other related professional practice by personal study, in-service training and external courses
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
~ It is essential that you have a Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and that you are currently registered with the HCPC.
