Position Title: Coordinator, Career Development

Location: Vancouver/Victoria/Prince George/Kelowna

Reports To:  Lead, Career Development  

Compensation: $28.85/ hour

Date:  August 17, 2026 – April 02, 2027

I. Scope and Summary of Primary Responsibilities

The Career Development Coordinator (CDC) plays a key role in supporting the delivery of employment readiness programming for participants who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision. Working with the Lead, Career Development, the CDC supports the delivery of programming to cohorts of 8 participants, with duties including but not limited to workshop facilitation, participant communications, assignment review, progress monitoring, and documentation.

II. Essential Functions

The position entails, but is not limited to the following general responsibilities:

• Co-facilitate and independently facilitate employment readiness workshops and training sessions, delivering approximately 50% of scheduled weekly programming.
• Support implementation and monitoring of participants' Individual Development Plans, ensuring activities align with employment goals and project milestones.
• Conduct assignment review and provide timely feedback to reinforce learning outcomes and participant progress.
• Identify emerging participant needs and communicate concerns to the Lead, Career Development to ensure timely intervention.
• Provide individualized coaching and practical support to participants requiring additional assistance in completing program activities.
• Monitor participant attendance, engagement, and progress, maintaining accurate records within organizational databases and reporting systems.
• Support preparation of workshop materials, participant resources, and accessible documentation.

III. Qualifications

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Strong facilitation, coaching, and participant engagement skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and time management abilities.
• Experience maintaining accurate records and participant data using CRM or case management systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while providing individualized participant support.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with diverse participants.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms.

Experience and Education

• Minimum 1-year of work in a similar role including career coaching, counselling, or workshop facilitation.
• Degree or diploma in social work, human services, program development or human resources.
• Experience facilitating workshops, coaching participants, or delivering employment readiness programming is preferred.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or other equity-deserving populations is considered a strong asset.
• Knowledge of labour market trends, employment resources, and career planning tools is an asset.

Work Environment

• This is a contract position from August 17, 2026, to April 2, 2027
• Hybrid work environment (2 days in the office)
• Occasional travel required may be required
