Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Branch Director to provide leadership and oversight of our day-to-day operations, programs, and services. This role is central to ensuring that our organization continues to meet the evolving needs of the community while delivering high-quality, compassionate, and responsive mental health and addictions support.
Reporting to and working closely with the CEO / Strategic Advisor and Board of Directors, the Branch Director plays a key role in translating organizational strategy into meaningful action - leading teams, strengthening programs, and maintaining a strong, supportive presence within the community.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Administration
- Provide overall leadership for daily branch operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery
- Implement organizational priorities and operational plans aligned with strategic direction
- Ensure compliance with policies, legislation, contractual obligations, and funder requirements
- Develop, manage, and monitor budgets, including variance reporting and financial accountability
- Support labour relations through administration of the collective agreement and operational input into bargaining priorities
Program & Service Delivery
- Oversee the delivery and quality of all programs and services
- Ensure services align with organizational values, community needs, and best practices in mental health and addictions
- Maintain consistent application of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approaches
- Monitor program outcomes and ensure reporting and evaluation processes are in place
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Represent the organization at the community and operational level
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and service providers
- Support collaboration and coordinated approaches to service delivery
- Promote awareness of programs and services within the community.
- Support and grow relationships with existing funders while cultivating new community funding partnerships.
Human Resources & Team Leadership
- Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and performance management for staff
- Manage and provide direction to Team Leads who support operational activities, including scheduling, coordination, and execution of daily branch functions
- Foster a positive, respectful, and psychologically safe workplace culture
- Support development of team leads and emerging leaders
- Address staffing challenges, performance concerns, and team dynamics
Infrastructure & Risk Management
- Oversee management of facilities, equipment, and physical assets
- Ensure a safe, well-maintained environment for staff and members
- Identify and manage operational risks related to safety, service delivery, and staffing
- Recommend and support capital improvements as needed
Day-to-Day Operations
- Manage scheduling, staffing coverage, and operational workflows
- Address and resolve operational, client, and staff-related concerns
- Monitor program activity, documentation, and reporting
- Escalate significant issues and risks to the CEO / Strategic Advisor as required
What You Bring
We are looking for someone who brings both strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to community-based mental health work.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or equivalent experience)
- Progressive leadership experience in a community-based or health-related organization
- Experience managing staff, programs, and operations
- Knowledge of mental health, addictions, and community support systems
