Job Summary Student Affairs is a collection of integrated units that collaborates with faculty, staff and students to enhance the student experience. We promote an inclusive, holistic and student-centric approach to learning and academic success and act as a professional resource in the delivery of evidence-based student enrolment, wellness, development and academic support programs and services. Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Support Team, the Residence Case Manager provides collaborative case management support as part of the broader Student Support Team for students living in residence and the Residence Life Team. This involves direct non-clinical psycho-social assessment, case management of complex issues, community training using a principled restorative, collaborative approach. Key Responsibilities

• Provide early intervention assessment and support for residence students involved in serious or concerning incidents, including mental health distress, student death, assaults, sexualized violence, escalating conflicts, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
• Provide consultation and well-being support to student leaders and Residence Life staff.
• Provide case management support, including direct non-clinical intervention and psycho-social support, with residence students identified as having complex or multiple needs, those experiencing barriers and/or demonstrating concerning behaviours including those at risk for eviction from residence and those transitioning out of residence.
• Participate with other members of the Student Support Team and our partners across the University to integrate a case management and restorative approach to solving problems, enrich the student experience and support student resilience, sense of belonging and holistic success.
• Actively identify key partners across the University, builds relationships to ensures case management support is delivered with a collaborative, restorative approach and with an equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility lens.
• Contributes to and delivers training and education sessions on student psycho-social well-being to students, supports and resources to students, staff and faculty.

Note The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines. The successful applicant must be available for occasional work on evenings and weekends based on operational requirements. Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Social Work from an accredited school of social work plus approximately five years' relevant social work experience required. Master of Social Work preferred.
• Must be registered or eligible for registration with Nova Scotia College of Social Workers.
• Must have demonstrated experience providing case management and crisis intervention services using holistic wellness and restorative approaches.
• Must have demonstrated experience completing comprehensive psycho-social assessments, including assessing risk of harm to self and others.
• Must have demonstrated experience and commitment to EDIA/anti-oppressive practice.
• Must have demonstrated experience working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment, and proven interpersonal and relational communication (verbal and written) skills.

Assets

• Experience with process design and facilitation of principled restorative approaches.
• Experience working with youth and/or university students.
• Experience delivering presentations/public speaking.
