Director, Corporate Relations (Bilingual French/English)

Job Description

Reporting to the North American Corporate Relations leadership team, the Corporate Relations Director , Canada will be responsible for developing and executing the Corporate Relations strategy across Canada. This role plays a critical part in shaping the policy, regulatory, and reputational environment in which the business operates. Acting as a trusted advisor to the Canadian leadership team, the successful candidate will lead initiatives across government affairs, public policy, corporate communications, sustainability, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management.

• Develop and execute a comprehensive Corporate Relations strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead the organization's government affairs and public policy agenda across Canada.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulators, industry associations, customers, NGOs, and other key stakeholders.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide strategic advice to leadership on emerging opportunities and risks.
• Lead external communications, media relations, executive communications, and reputation management initiatives.
• Develop and manage crisis communication and issues management strategies.
• Drive sustainability and social impact programs that reinforce the organization's purpose and values.
• Partner closely with Canadian and North American leadership teams to support commercial priorities and long-term business growth.
• Represent the company at industry forums, stakeholder engagements, and public-facing events.
• Lead and develop a high-performing Corporate Relations function while influencing key stakeholders across a matrix organization.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate is an experienced Bilingual (EN/FR) Corporate Relations professional with a strong track record of influencing public policy, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and advising senior business leaders in dynamic and highly regulated environments.

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Affairs, Communications, Business, Law, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Corporate Relations, Government Relations, Public Affairs, Public Policy, Corporate Communications, or related disciplines.
• Proven experience working within a multinational organization, highly regulated industry, consulting firm, agency, trade association, or government environment.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian government affairs, regulatory frameworks, and public policy landscapes.
• Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders and driving strategic business outcomes.
• Experience leading corporate communications, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement programs.
• Excellent understanding of issues management and crisis communications.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to align external engagement strategies with business priorities.
• Experience working within complex, matrixed organizations.
• Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
