SchoolsPlus Mental Health Clinician

Become an essential part of the SchoolsPlus Mental Health team at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in the Western Zone. This full-time role focuses on delivering tailored mental health services within schools, emphasizing early intervention for children and adolescents. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive mental health support in school settings. Your responsibilities will include planning and evaluating services while acting as a liaison between clients, schools, and mental health resources. This position requires a Master’s Degree in a related field, clinical licensure in Nova Scotia, and at least two years of experience. Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver mental health services directly within designated school communities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care
• Conduct assessments and provide emergency consultation services
• Educate families on mental health resources available
• Liaise with schools to monitor student well-being Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Social Work or Psychology required
• Registered (or eligible) for licensure in Nova Scotia
• Minimum of two years’ clinical experience in mental health
• Knowledge of DSM and non-violent crisis intervention
• Familiarity with mental health legislation in Nova Scotia Apply your expertise in mental health to support students and families through the SchoolsPlus program.
