About the Opportunity

• Be responsible for the preparation and processing of weekly payroll for Union, Non Union hourly and salaried employees from end to end
• Audit payroll processing to ensure accuracy
• Address payroll issues
• Ensure all data files are complete and approved for transmission
• Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets and other input documents
• Track and enter all garnishments and other special payroll deductions
• Administer the issuance of T4’s, ROE’s, T2200, and various payroll reports as requested
• Ensure that all salaries/wages are paid accurately and in accordance with regulations in a timely manner
• Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure payroll and other personnel records are accurate and up to date
• Assist in the preparation of year end reports, and filing of all annual returns with federal/provincial governments
• Prioritize tasks to ensure deadlines are met
• Maintain the confidentiality of all employee records
• Be the main point of contact for all payroll related inquiries
• Work with other team members to coordinate responsibilities, and prioritize tasks, ensuring all important deadlines are met

About You:

• PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) is an asset
• Automated payroll systems experience is a MUST (i.e., Workday, ADP, Ceridian, UKG)
• Process and data mindset, with focus on workflows through systems
• Strong knowledge of legislation and ESA across Canada
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and ability to manipulate large pieces of data
• 5 years payroll experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving abilities
• Must be able to work effectively in a team setting, a dedicated team player
• Able to work within tight payroll deadlines
• Excellent critical thinking ability

Pay Range:
$75,000 -  $80,000 per year
