Mechanical Technical Director (Montreal)

Overview

Stantec’s Buildings group is seeking a Director of Mechanical Engineering to join our Laval, Montreal, or Longueuil office. The role plays a key part in our mission to design sustainable buildings across institutional, industrial, commercial, and transportation settings in Quebec, Canada, and overseas.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the study, design, and management of various projects across Quebec, Canada, and overseas.
• Lead mechanical engineering teams in developing integrated design solutions that incorporate sustainable development principles.
• Communicate an explicit vision to inspire and create a high level of commitment within the team.
• Mentor and share knowledge with team members, guiding their professional development.
• Continuously improve design processes and support innovation in mechanical engineering practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.

Qualifications

• Over 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, focusing on plumbing, ventilation, and complex mechanical systems.
• Member of the Ordre des ingnieurs du Qubec.
• Proven ability to communicate an explicit vision, inspire, and create a high level of commitment within the team.
• Strong interest in mentoring and knowledge sharing, with an aptitude for guiding and developing the skills of team members.
• Expertise in mechanical design with the ability to improve design processes.
• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement of practices.
