Director, Corporate Services

Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, Legal and Corporate Services, the Director, Corporate Services leads the strategic evolution and operational excellence of the TMX Group’s enterprise-wide corporate programs. This senior leadership role requires extensive experience in business resilience, crisis management, physical security, facilities management, and corporate leasing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion operational resilience, establishing credibility with leaders across the organization and mitigating material resilience risks that threaten enterprise objectives.
• Lead crisis management and executive decision support, coordinating responses, facilitating high‑quality decision‑making under pressure, and aligning actions with long‑term business interests.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive office and leasing strategy that optimizes the organization’s physical footprint, manages landlord relationships, negotiates lease agreements, and ensures acquisitions or divestitures align with financial targets.
• Apply an enterprise‑wide perspective to all operations, maintaining a sophisticated understanding of how key business processes impact the organization and the broader financial sector.
• Oversee the business resilience program for all business units and corporate functions, directing crisis response, post‑incident reporting, and improvement strategies.
• Manage physical security and health & safety programs, ensuring policies are up to date, compliant, and supported by enterprise‑wide training initiatives.
• Lead facilities and administration programs, proactively manage office space planning, refitting projects, and large‑scale construction or new office builds.
• Integrate new business acquisitions into the corporate services program, identify improvement opportunities, negotiate service contracts, and manage program budgets.
• Oversee department operations, including budget management, annual planning, data synthesis, and project leadership for departmental initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, disaster & emergency management, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience leading crisis or emergency management response.
• Strong knowledge of business fundamentals and applicable legal frameworks (building/fire code, health & safety legislation, privacy legislation, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt content and style for diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, attention‑to‑detail, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Proven ability to solve problems practically and innovatively.
• Experience leading and partnering with multiple stakeholders on complex projects.
• People‑management skills to develop and motivate team members.
• Professional designation or working toward one (FMP, CFM, CPP, CBCP, MBCI) is an asset.
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset.

Benefits and Compensation

Hybrid work arrangement (2‑3 days/week in the office), based in Toronto, ON. Salary range: CAD$175,000 – $190,000 per year (guideline only; final offer depends on qualifications).
