Hybrid Legal Counsel Role in Toronto

Elevate your legal career with a hybrid Legal Counsel role at our Toronto office, covering parental leave from July 2026 to October 2027. Collaborate on privacy, compliance, and commercial agreements. We are seeking a licensed lawyer with over four years of experience to join the Office of the General Counsel. In this temporary role, you will work closely with the Firm’s Privacy Officer and engage in policy development, incident management, and commercial contract negotiations. Your insights will guide special projects, including legal technology and information governance. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the enterprise privacy program and respond to regulatory requests
- Review and negotiate various commercial agreements
- Advise on professional obligations and insurance matters
- Partner on special projects within the Firm
- Manage the Firm’s information governance and data protection initiatives
- Licensed lawyer in good standing with relevant jurisdictions
- Minimum 4 years of legal experience
- Understanding of privacy laws required
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Bilingual in English and French preferred
