Role Summary

The Director & General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of the assigned branch(es). This role oversees daily operations, fleet management, safety and compliance, financial performance, customer relationships, and team leadership to ensure efficient, safe, and profitable transportation services.

Key Accountabilities

• Oversee all day‑to‑day trucking and freight operations, including dispatch, fleet utilization, and terminal activities.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including revenue, margin, service quality, operational efficiency, and cash collection performance.
• Assist with closing new business opportunities to contribute to the branch’s growth and profitability.
• Develop and enhance relationships with customers and suppliers to identify and respond to issues and opportunities.
• Manage and develop operating budget.
• Recruit, train, schedule and supervise staff; conduct regular staff meetings to facilitate effective team communication.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Completion of post‑secondary education in Business Management, Logistics, Transportation or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in trucking, freight, or logistics operations.
• Proven experience managing budgets, P&L, and operational performance.
• Demonstrated success leading large teams, including drivers and operations staff.
• Experience with TMS, dispatch systems, and fleet management software.
• Solid commercial experience with margin and profit orientation.
• Strong leadership and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent analytical, financial, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Results‑oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Fluency in French and English is required.

Compensation

Salary range: $125,000 - $140,000. Permanent, on‑site position, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, located at 4415 Rue Fairway, Lachine, Quebec H8T 3P9.
