Indigenous Social Worker at OCSB

Support Indigenous students at the Ottawa Catholic School Board as an Indigenous Social Worker. The OCSB seeks an Indigenous Social Worker to join its multidisciplinary teams, focusing on enhancing the well-being of Indigenous students. You will provide individual and group therapy, resources for parents, and navigate complex student attendance issues. Your lived experience within Indigenous communities is crucial in breaking down educational barriers and promoting student success. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide counselling and intervention for social-emotional needs
- Perform assessments and develop safety plans during crises
- Offer consultation and support to students with mental health concerns
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and collaborate on goal setting
- Build educational capacity through professional learning
- Master of Social Work Degree
- Member of OCSWSSW with 5 years experience
- Direct Indigenous lived experience
- Strong communication and judgment skills
- Valid Ontario driver's license required
