Looking for an experienced support worker to accompany my 5-year-old son during his school day at a private school in South Ottawa. This is a classroom-based role, not in-home care. The role Four days a week, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. — 16 hours weekly One-to-one support in the classroom: helping him stay engaged with activities, managing transitions, supporting social interaction with classmates, and assisting with self-care routines as needed Working alongside his teacher, not replacing them, you'll follow the school's lead on classroom expectations The school has already approved an outside support worker, so the arrangement is in place Who I'm looking for Background in DSW, ECE, CYC, SSW, ABA, or comparable hands-on experience with young children who need additional support Comfortable in a classroom setting and working with school staff Patient, consistent, and able to commit to the full school year continuity matters more to us than credentials on paper Clear vulnerable sector police check required Own transportation to [area] Details $25 - 30/hour, paid privately Follows the school calendar, no work on PD days, holidays, or breaks Please tell me briefly about your experience with children in this age range and your availability.
