Business Systems Analyst - API & Data Integration (Toronto)

Must-Have Elicit, analyze, and document detailed business requirements through:
Stakeholder interviews
Workshops and working sessions
Process analysis
Convert business needs into:
Functional requirements
Non‑functional requirements (performance, scalability, security)
Create detailed documentation:
BRD (Business Requirements Document)
FRD (Functional Requirements Document)
User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
Perform gap analysis between current and future state systems.
Collaborate with technical teams to design system solutions aligned with business requirements.
Define system workflows, data models, and integration points.
Translate requirements into:
API specifications
Interface/data mapping documents
Ensure scalability, reliability, and compliance of solutions.
Participate in architectural discussions and recommend improvements.
Good‑to‑Have (Positive‑to‑Have) Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies & Agile/Scrum frameworks.
Responsibility/Expectations from the Role Act as the primary liaison between Business users, Product Owners, Development & QA Teams.
Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain clear communication.
Conduct regular status updates, demos, and feedback sessions.
Resolve requirement ambiguities and conflicts.
Must participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC):
Requirement gathering
Design
Development support
Testing
Deployment
Post‑production support
Must work in Agile/Scrum environments:
Backlog grooming
Sprint planning
Daily stand‑ups
Sprint reviews and retrospectives
