CONTRACT COORDINATOR - 2026 CHRISTMAS SEASON OPERATION RED NOSE - WILLIAMS LAKE & AREA

Approximately: 125 hours | Rate: $35/hour | Total Programme Budget: $5,000
The Williams Lake Community Policing Committee is seeking an organized, reliable, and community-minded individual to coordinate Operation Red Nose in Williams Lake and Area for the 2026 Christmas season.
The Coordinator will plan, manage, and coordinate the programme from preparation through completion, working with volunteers, community organisations, businesses, sponsors, media, and other partners to ensure the programme operates safely and effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Plan and coordinate Operation Red Nose activities, schedules, logistics, and communications.
•Recruit, orient, schedule, and support volunteers and ensure adequate coverage for operating nights.
•Coordinate evening programme operations and respond to operational issues as they arise.
•Be available on programme nights from approximately 18:00 to 03:00 the following morning.
•Maintain volunteer, operational, statistical, and financial records.
•Arrange volunteer refreshments and miscellaneous supplies within the approved budget.
•Promote the programme through community contacts, social media, media, posters, and other appropriate channels.
•Develop and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, businesses, sponsors, and programme partners.
•Provide regular updates to the Williams Lake Community Policing Committee Board.
•Prepare a final report summarizing programme results, expenses, challenges, and recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must:
•Have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•Be able to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems effectively.
•Be comfortable coordinating and working with volunteers.
•Be available for evening and late-night work during programme operating nights.
•Have basic computer, email, word-processing, spreadsheet, and social-media skills.
•Hold a valid driver’s license.
Experience in volunteer coordination, event management, community programming, or previous Operation Red Nose involvement would be an asset.
CONTRACT & BUDGET
This is an independent contract position starting immediately and effective to March 31, 2027, with approximately 125 hours of work anticipated.
The Coordinator will be paid $35 per hour for approved hours worked. The total programme budget is $5,000, which includes the Coordinator’s compensation and approved programme expenses such as volunteer refreshments and miscellaneous supplies.
Additional hours or expenditures beyond the approved budget require prior authorization from the Williams Lake Community Policing Committee Board.
