  • Develop clear, plain-language community information and engagement materials, including posters, pamphlets, presentations, FAQs and community updates.

  • Work with Tŝilhqot’in Nidlin staff to make information about jurisdiction, Tŝilhqot’in Law, programs and initiatives clear and easy to understand.

  • Lead the development and implementation of Tŝilhqot’in Nidlin’s communications strategy and communications plan.

  • Oversee social media, website content, newsletters, announcements and other public communications.

  • Identify opportunities to share important updates, progress, community successes and stories.

  • Ensure communications and engagement materials reflect Tŝilhqot’in culture, values, language and identity.

  • Coordinate engagement and communications across Tŝilhqot’in Nidlin to ensure communities receive clear, timely and consistent information.

  • Support staff and leadership in preparing for community meetings, presentations and engagement activities.

  • Support and facilitate community discussions and engagement sessions as required.

  • Coordinate graphic design, photography, printing and other communications services as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in communications, community engagement, Indigenous studies, public relations or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous communities, cultures and ways of working.

  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with community members, leadership and staff.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in clear, plain language.

  • Experience developing communications and engagement materials, managing social media, and coordinating community engagement activities.

  • Comfortable speaking with groups and supporting or facilitating community meetings and engagement sessions.
