Pastry Cook

DaNico is seeking a motivated and skilled Pastry Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of desserts, pastries, and other sweet goods in our pastry production. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Have a minimum of two years of work experience.
• Have a high school graduation.
• Demonstrate knowledge of traditional and innovative Italian bakery techniques and recipes.
• Demonstrate skills in making pastries, desserts, and other baked goods.
• Have good knowledge of yeasts and other chemical leavening agents, as well as time-sensitive baking procedures.
• Possess allergy-friendly baking skills.
• Have working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations, including gluten-free pastries and sugarless products.
• Have in-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, baking techniques, and nutrition.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
• Be able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Prepare baked desserts, mignon pastries, biscuits, and savory pastries.
• Prepare spoon desserts such as creams, puddings, semifreddo, and gelati.
• Prepare handmade chocolates.
• Take care of the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work tools.
• Adhere to health and safety standards to provide clients with the best possible serving.
• Apply traditional and innovative Italian bakery techniques and recipes.
• Prepare allergy-friendly baked goods and products with ingredient limitations, including gluten-free pastries and sugarless products.
• Follow sanitation principles, food preparation practices, baking techniques, and nutrition guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
