Head Pastry Chef

Job Responsibility:

Machino Donuts is seeking an experienced Senior Bread Baker to join our team and uphold our tradition of crafting exceptional gourmet donuts.

This full-time position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week, starting at 5:00 AM at 1556 Bloor St West. Weekend availability is essential. Candidates must have hands-on experience baking bread from scratch, from mixing raw ingredients to producing high-quality pastries or baked goods.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare a variety of donuts entirely from scratch, starting with reviewing recipes, scaling ingredients, and mixing dough using essential components.

· Maintain consistency and excellence in all baked goods, ensuring each batch meets the highest quality standards.

· Manage the daily bread production process, from mixing and fermentation to shaping, proofing, and baking, ensuring efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment.

· Collaborate with the bakery team to meet production targets and maintain smooth operations.

· Adhere to all health and safety protocols, keeping the baking area clean, organized, and compliant with industry standards.

Qualifications:

· Minimum 3 years experience working with baked goods and/or a certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or relevant field.

+Unfortunately, experience limited to working with frozen dough does not meet the requirements for this role.

· Be highly organized and able to multitask

· Open availability

· Experience with traditional bread recipes and fermentation techniques.

· A true passion for bread making and a keen eye for detail.

· Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

· Availability to start work at 5:00 AM and commit to a full-time schedule.

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

· Be highly organized and able to multitask

· Responsible, eager to learn, and adaptable.

Duties :

- mixing and fermentation to shaping, proofing, baking and decorating donuts, ensuring efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment

- customer service (using pos, online order from the third apps)

- washing dishes / cleaning

- Inventory check

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

- Be flexible and willing to learn new tasks.
