Perfusionist Role at St. Boniface Hospital

Elevate your perfusionist career at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. As a vital member of the clinical team, you'll handle heart-lung machines and instruct aspiring perfusionists. This in-person position involves setup, operation, and dismantling of the heart-lung machine. Reporting to the Manager of Respiratory Therapy and collaborating closely with the operating surgeon and anesthetist, you will instruct students and health professionals. Your ability to adapt to clinical situations and handle technical issues will be key to success in this role. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate heart-lung machines effectively
- Train Perfusionist students and healthcare staff
- Collaborate with surgeons and anesthetists daily
- Troubleshoot technical problems during procedures
- Maintain a professional demeanor in high-pressure scenarios
- Graduate of an Accredited Cardiovascular Perfusion Program
- Certification from Canadian Society or American Board
- Previous perfusion experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must pass background checks for employment
