The base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.As a candidate, you are encouraged to ask compensation related questions and have an open dialogue with your recruiter who can provide you more specific details for this role.Job Description:Department OverviewCanadian Personal Banking Technology teams are responsible for delivering safe, secure, and innovative solutions in support of our customers and colleagues across all channels with a specific focus on Canadian Personal Banking, through our Servicing and Customer Engagement Platforms, Core, and Credit Platforms, as well as Customer and Colleague Assistance (e.g., Next Generation Contact Center (NGCC), ATM).Job Accountabilities - What You'll DoThe Manager, Engineering role in the Credit Platform is accountable for building, maintaining and evolving the culture and community of software and is responsible for coaching on knowledge, skills and performance, building and evolving their capabilities, and advising engineers on their work to ensure solutions meet business needs and aligned with technology strategies and emerging industry standards; this includes planning, evaluating, recommending, designing, operationalizing, and supporting solutions in compliance with enterprise and industry standards.Lead / manage a team of Engineers / Technology Specialists and oversee related engineering analysis activities and deliverablesProvide overall team leadership, training, coaching, development, succession, recruitment and resource management, and ensures on-going performance feedback and assessments occur and development plans exist for each team member. Engages team with Platform and Journey leads to ensure 2-way feedback of Practitioners occurs.Execute introducing engineering tools, methodologies and processes across the enterpriseAccountability to understand the current skills and capabilities within their practice, actively working to close gaps that may exist through additional learning, coaching, supports etc.Leverage deep technology expertise for own area of specialization to deliver and ensure that all areas across the organization that provision, manage and support various technologies have the necessary tools, processes and documentation required to effectively execute on their respective mandatesExecute on Engineering strategy as it relates to the introduction of tools and the automation of build, test, release and configure activities across Application, Platform and InfrastructurePartner with the Operations team to automatically integrate with appropriate tools and processes as part of automated/self-serve Application, Platform or Infrastructure releasesWork with partners across Technology and apply in-depth understanding of relevant business needs to identify and leverage synergies across the various areasAct as the expert or lead innovator and agent of change for the programs and services under managementLead interface with other technology teams to implement best practices, standards and managementWork with vendor platform providers and engineering peers to keep abreast of trends, products, frameworks, and applicationsIdentify and effectively manage stakeholder engagement and impact across the enterpriseEngage executive stakeholders appropriately to review progress and obtain input, validation and approval of key decisionsAnticipate client needs to influence the development of innovative engineering solutions as well as business strategiesAnticipate internal/external business and regulatory issues;
