Job Overview
4‑6+ years of experience as a developer in development & maintenance environments involving COBOL, DB2, JCL, IMSDB, and CICS.
Responsibilities
- Extensive experience in developing batch jobs using JCL.
- Document data transformation rules to facilitate continuous data replication from IMS DB to SQL Server.
- Build and maintain a data resiliency process that compares source and target data stores, reports discrepancies, and enables operations teams to correct data.
- Develop the data resiliency process using IBM Infosphere DataStage.
- Develop projects from COBOL to JAVA APIs (minimum 2+ years of experience).
- Perform end-to-end data analysis and data validation processes (minimum 2+ years of experience).
- Provide timely and quality support such as incidents and operational reports to BU and IT stakeholders.
- Perform BAU changes to support operational requirements, such as ad hoc or periodic updates to application data and business logic.
- Provide development and testing support to other interfacing systems.
- Perform integration testing and PIV.
- Develop, unit‑test, and deploy current MF DevOps pipelines under RBC’s Engineering Transformation Program (nice to have).
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of development and/or hands‑on application maintenance experience on large mainframe applications.
- Proficiency with mainframe tools/utilities, including COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMSDB, CICS, Focus, File‑Aid, Xpeditor, and ISPF.
- Experience with source code management tools such as Endevor and Git.
- Hand‑on experience with DevOps tools including Hub, DevOps UCD, Jenkins, SonarQube, and ZUnit.
