Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is actively hiring a Damage Prevention & Public Awareness Intern to join the team. This position reports to the Manager, Damage Prevention & Public Awareness in the External Affairs Unit, part of Pembina’s Legal, People & Corporate Affairs Division.

On behalf of Pembina’s Asset Teams, Damage Prevention & Public Awareness (DPPA) manages a comprehensive damage prevention program, which includes integration of field controls (One-Call, locating/marking, and right-of-way monitoring), governance (authorization, documentation, and escalation), and stakeholder engagement (public awareness) to reduce the likelihood of excavation-related incidents. Collectively, these programs protect our people, environment and infrastructure.

This is a 4-month contract position. The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Calgary, AB. 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

• Supporting the DPPA team by working with data, preparing reports, and organizing information related to damage prevention activities and initiatives;
• Assisting with Damage Prevention and Public Awareness support, including air patrols, unauthorized activities, One Calls, depth-of-cover, land use monitoring, and related monthly and quarterly reporting;
• Support day-to-day work and learning activities related to the team or function, using tools such as Microsoft Office, Copilot/ChatGPT, ArcGIS, in-house databases and other applicable systems;
• Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice” by caring for yourself and others and following Pembina’s Life Saving Rules at all times;
• Demonstrate Pembina’s values by working in a manner that is Safe, Trustworthy, Respectful, Collaborative, and Entrepreneurial, recognizing that how results are achieved matters; and

Qualifications:

• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a professional or extracurricular team environment;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), solid technical writing skills;
• Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program and returning to school following the end of the work term;
• Field of study aligned with, or providing relevant transferable skills, such as Engineering, Urban Planning, Stakeholder Relations, or related discipline;
• Ability to commit to the full duration of the term and required schedule; and
• Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn in a structured environment, aligned with Pembina’s values and safety expectations. 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
