Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), you will serve as a trusted partner to leaders and advisor to employees across multiple business areas, providing strategic and operational human resources support throughout the employee lifecycle. This role plays a key part in attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining talent while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, collective agreements, and organizational policies that support Rise Air's continued growth and success.

What you'll do

• Serve as the primary HR point of contact and trusted partner across assigned business units to provide strategic guidance, employee and labour relations support, and practical solutions that drive business and people outcomes.
• Lead full-cycle recruitment activities using modern sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection practices to attract and hire top aviation talent.
• Support managers and employees throughout the employee life cycle including training and development, performance management including progressive discipline, and offboarding.
• Advise managers and employees on policies, collective agreements, compensation, benefits, leaves, accommodations, return-to-work plans, and employment legislation.
• Analyze HR data and prepare workforce reports, employment equity reporting, compensation analyses, and other workforce insights to support decision-making.
• Lead or support HR initiatives as assigned including special projects, policy development, employee engagement initiatives, and training programs across the organization.
• Ground and air travel is required throughout the year for career fairs and forward-facing events.

What you'll bring

• Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 6–7 years of progressive human resources generalist experience.
• Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of employment legislation, human resources best practices, employee and labour relations principles.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, relationship-building and coaching skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, HRIS/HRMS systems, and HR reporting and analytics.
• Experience working in a unionized environment, including grievance handling, investigations, and collective agreement interpretation.
• CPHR designation and aviation industry experience would be considered an asset.

What you'll get

The expected compensation range for this role is $75,000 to $100,000 per year. Placement within the range will be based on demonstrated skills, relevant experience, and internal equity considerations.
