Engineering Manager in Financial Services

Agilus is seeking an Engineering Manager to spearhead risk and fraud initiatives in Toronto's financial sector. This hybrid role focuses on developing automated solutions in a rapidly scaling digital banking environment. As the Engineering Manager, you will lead a team dedicated to optimizing engineering processes for high-reliability systems. Your role will involve building technical strategies that address financial risks while ensuring a seamless customer experience. You will also mentor a high-performing team and collaborate closely with various departments to tackle complex risk challenges effectively. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead delivery of engineering projects focused on risk mitigation
- Oversee processes for high-reliability systems
- Define the technical strategy for fraud and trust platforms
- Collaborate with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations
- Develop and coach talented engineers
- 1–3 years of experience in people management
- Strong technical judgment and product experience
- Background in fintech or B2B SaaS environments
- Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React, and AWS
- Ability to handle complex technical trade-offs
