The opportunity
We currently have career opportunities for senior managers in our Financial Services (FS) consulting practice. We work collaboratively with top executives in financial institutions of all sizes and scales, helping them create and realize the best solutions for the future of their business. Each project is different, so you’ll need to excel in ambiguous situations and confidently navigate ever‑changing circumstances. We’ll look to you to be a self‑starter, able to translate complex information into simple terms, manage teams, and deliver long‑term solutions with confidence. On this team, you’ll have the unique opportunity to imagine the future as well as create it, where you can craft ideas and implement them for our clients.
Our engagements span strategic assessments, target operating model designs, system and vendor selections, technology and data architecture design, and implementation support of mid‑ to large‑scale transformation opportunities.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead multiple client engagements – manage and lead the delivery of small and large/complex client engagements including overseeing planning, execution, stakeholder management, and delivering strategic outcomes.
- Business & practice development – assist the partner and the team by leading and managing business development initiatives, including developing proposals and scoping documents, and proactively building relationships with clients and peers at EY.
- Team management – support people development through activities such as recruitment, mentoring, and counsellor programmes.
- Account management & financials – oversee engagement financials to maintain profitability, efficient resource allocation, and compliance with internal risk and oversight procedures.
- Work with the partner, other practices, and the team to execute the growth strategy and initiatives.
The breadth of client engagements and new business opportunities spans across wealth and asset management, retail and commercial banking, insurance, and capital markets industries.
Skills and attributes for success
- Agile, growth‑oriented mindset – innovative, able to work in an agile way and keep pace with a rapidly changing world. Experience in business development or delivering against financial targets in a service‑oriented context is a plus.
- High‑performance financial services leader – strong track record of managing large teams delivering strategic technology‑enabled transformations and major digital implementations. Demonstrated team leadership in complex contexts, plus project management, advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Great communicator – strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills across all mediums, including email, proposals, architecture diagrams, and keynote speeches.
- Curiosity and purpose – sees opportunities instead of challenges, asks better questions, seeks better answers, and is committed to integrity in every environment.
- Integrity and inclusivity – values diverse perspectives, embraces differences, and builds safety and trust within the team.
To qualify for the role you must have
- Experience leading consulting engagements with a top‑tier consulting firm or a specialist financial services consultancy.
- A successful track record leading projects (8+ years) in financial services, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, in one or more of the following areas: wealth and asset management, retail banking, commercial and small business banking, insurance, and capital markets.
- Extensive project and programme delivery experience.
- Strong business writing, presentations, and stakeholder management skills.
- People coaching and mentoring experience.
- Experience leading sales collateral development, such as proposal responses.
- Deep understanding of current market trends in the financial services industry.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS, JD, etc.) or relevant professional certifications (CFA, CPA, PMP, etc.) preferred.
- Experience in one or more of:
- Operating model design to define target state business, operations, technology, and control partner functions.
- Capability maturity model planning, roadmap development, and investment prioritization for large‑scale, strategic, and transformative initiatives.
- Workforce readiness, mobilization, and sales force effectiveness.
- Channel (branch, online, mobile, contact center, relationship manager) transformation experience.
- Financial services operations, technology systems, and regulatory frameworks.
