VP, Client Strategy & Growth (Social)

The Role

We’re seeking a senior leader who is, first and foremost, a confident executive-level client lead and a proactive social strategist. You’ll be the primary point of contact for the brands in the portfolio – the person their senior stakeholders call, trust, and rely on for direction – while working directly with the CEO to grow those accounts rather than simply keep them steady.

The right person is senior enough to advise a client’s leadership team with authority, sharp enough to see the opportunities others walk past, and commercial enough to know which ones are worth chasing. The core of the job is anticipation: getting ahead of clients with ideas they didn’t ask for, connecting dots across accounts and calendars, and building executive relationships strong enough to make the agency genuinely hard to replace.

What You’ll Own

Senior Client Leadership & Executive Relationships

• Serve as the primary senior point of contact for the brands in the portfolio – the trusted advisor their leadership turns to for strategic guidance and direction.


• Lead high‑stakes conversations: planning sessions, strategic recommendations, issue resolution, renewals, and growth discussions, with the credibility to navigate them confidently.


• Build relationships at the senior level that go beyond the day‑to‑day work, so the agency is seen as a strategic partner rather than a vendor.


• Read the room and the relationship early – surfacing risks, managing expectations, and protecting client confidence before issues escalated.


• Bring clients’ ideas before they ask – seasonal campaigns, cultural moments, and creative angles their brands are well‑positioned to own.


• Look across the portfolio for connections others miss: cross‑promotion, shared audiences, and ways one client’s strengths can create value for another.


• Turn a strong instinct for social into concrete, sellable recommendations that deepen and expand accounts.


• Set the standard for what proactive client thinking looks like, and pull the team up to it.

Commercial & Growth Ownership

• Manage the portfolio with a real understanding of revenue, scope, and profitability, and a nose for where growth is hiding.


• Grow existing accounts through expanded scopes, renewals, added services, and stronger account planning.


• Partner directly with the CEO on priorities, risks, and where to push for more.

Team & Delivery Leadership

• Lead and coach the team across client service, social, content, and strategy – raising the bar on ownership, quality, and proactive thinking.


• Stay close enough to the work to catch gaps before they reach a client, and to model the strategic instinct you want the team to build.


• Bring practical structure to workflows and resourcing so the portfolio runs cleanly and scales.
