Job Responsibility: The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and economic planning and operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. Reporting to the Manager, Data and Digital Workplace Services, the Azure DevOps Administrator is accountable to deploy, manage, monitor and support applications and services within the Microsoft Azure cloud environment. The administrator will work closely with developers, infrastructure teams and the data team to implement solutions and services in Azure. Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

• Designing and implementing secure cloud infrastructure using Azure services to support scalable and reliable software deployment.
• Automating and optimizing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for system provisioning and application deployment.
• Managing source code repositories and branching strategies to maintain code quality and facilitate collaboration among developers.
• Monitoring and ensuring the performance, availability, and scalability of applications and environments in Azure.
• Implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
• Collaborating with development teams to identify and resolve build or deployment issues and streamline development workflows.
• Configuring and managing Azure DevOps services, such as Azure Boards, Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, and Azure Artifacts.
• Defining and enforcing security best practices and compliance policies to protect the infrastructure and data within the Azure cloud.
• Facilitating the creation and maintenance of automated testing frameworks to improve software quality and reliability.
• Conducting troubleshooting and problem-solving for Azure based system and applications.
• Staying current with the latest Azure features and DevOps trends to drive innovation and efficiency within the organization.
• Providing guidance and mentoring to development teams on DevOps principles and best practices in the Azure ecosystem.

What you'll bring to us:

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or a Diploma in IT Administration with 5+ years IT experience. Understanding of Software development lifecycle is important.

• Certifications in Azure Administrator and Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of Azure workloads, Resource manager templates, governance, security, and PowerShell.
• Proficiency in application platforms such as Azure DevOps, Microsoft Fabric, Azure API Management, and Azure Synapse.
• Expertise with tools including Git, Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, Bicep, ARM Templates, Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.
• Ideal candidate will have utilities market or industry experience.
