Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Property Tax , the position is responsible for remitting and reconciling property taxes.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:  

• Reconciles and remits property tax payments to appropriate municipalities within defined timelines and with utmost accuracy. 


• Providing excellent customer service to clients regarding their tax accounts and any payment adjustment. 


• Reviews and analyzes tax accounts with significant deficit/surplus balances that may require tax payment adjustments. 


• Action all inquiries related to property taxes.


• Acts to clear tax arrears appropriately and on a timely basis to avoid a tax sale.


• Handles client calls and voice messages, and action as required. 


• Prepares and distributes reports on a timely basis, maintaining municipal profiles including contact information, remittance methods, and payment due dates.


• Provides the highest level of support to other areas of servicing.


• Maintains operational excellence, using all available resources, escalating, when necessary, to maximize efficiencies and provide quick turnaround times.


• Helps to develop procedures, forms, reports and training materials, identifying opportunities for process improvement.


• Keep up to date on the various property tax legislation and policies. 


• Supports cross-departmental mandates and goals, together with originations and finance 


• Strict adherences to all Haventree Bank’s business area and AML/ATF policies and procedures. 

Qualifications & Experience: 

Degrees, Diplomas & Certifications: 

• The position requires a college diploma or equivalent. 

Years and Range of Experience Required to Perform the Job: 

• The position requires at least three to five years of property tax and mortgage servicing experience . 


• You are proficient in Microsoft applications like Word and Excel, comfortable using multiple system platforms simultaneously, and work in a paperless environment 


• Passionate about exceeding servicing expectations and an ability to deliver on those expectations.


• Quickly set priorities, remain disciplined and organize workload through effective time management.


• Able to manage high volume of tasks meeting the various requirements of each municipality and individual customer circumstances 


• Comfortable reconciling invoices against accounts.
