What is the Opportunity?
As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the construction of Canada’s first Small Modular Reactor on the SMR-X Project. Beginning in 2023 Aecon will support the validation phase, design, procurement, early site preparation and site mobilization scope for the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.
The Training Coordinator is responsible for supporting the security clearance process for all employees assigned to the SMR-X Project as well as, day to day preparation and handling of training material and records.
What You'll Do Here:
- Liaise with HR team to establish resource requirements for professional job roles from all Alliance Partners
- Collaborate with workgroups to forecast and prepare for project training demands
- Manage the onboarding, training coordination, and qualification maintenance for new and existing project employees including:
⦁ Project/task specific training needs assessment
⦁ Onboard/offboard requests in client database
⦁ Assigning/removing qualifications in respective project and client LMS
⦁ Create training schedules and work with project personnel to schedule re-qualification training
⦁ Receive and process supporting documentation to meet legislated internal and client requirements
⦁ Provide weekly training reports - Ensures all site access security and administrative requirements are met for new hires
- Responsible for training coordination and qualification maintenance for new and existing project employees
- Responsible to ensure training is completed and documented to meet legislated internal and client requirements
- Additional duties as assigned
What You Bring to the Table:
- Work experience or post-secondary learning in Business Administration, Human Resources, Business Management or related program.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft office; including excel an asset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills. Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task on a regular basis. Must have a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate with associated department.
- Must have computer skills to perform duties including software experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels of the organization.
