Role Overview
The Strategic Business Advisor is responsible for engaging business units to understand their challenges and priorities and develop technology‑led investments and initiatives that deliver tangible business value. This role focuses on business engagement, building clear insights into processes, people, technology, and data, and crafting solutions aligned with service line and corporate objectives. The Advisor will ensure technology solutions follow Colliers’ best practices and preferred platforms, while supporting business units with tailored technology road‑maps.
Key Responsibilities
- Professionally engage with business units and stakeholders, including executives, managers, subject matter experts, and end users, to identify and prioritize operational, tactical, and strategic needs.
- Conduct thorough analyses of business scenarios, examining roles and interactions between people, processes, technology, and data.
- Define and architect strategic initiatives that align technology investments with business goals and technology strategy, ensuring a direct correlation between solutions and business outcomes.
- Serve as a strategic advisor, providing expert advice, insights, recommendations, and guidance on how technology can solve business problems.
- Work with leaders to define success metrics, monitor project progress, and report on the impact of initiatives in terms of business value.
- Lead or support change‑management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new processes or technologies.
- Oversee and guide small to medium projects to meet strategic business objectives.
- Continuously optimize the application of business processes, roles, technology, and data.
- Provide ongoing support to regional or service‑line specific Commercial Technology Services Leads to optimize technology investments.
- Educate business units on technology benefits and best practices to foster a culture of technology‑driven innovation.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years in a strategic advisory or business analysis role with a focus on technology integration in business strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, management, or related fields; an MBA is advantageous.
- Deep insight into business operations, strategy, and process optimization, including the interplay between people, processes, technology, and data.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex solutions clearly to diverse audiences, and to translate ideas into diagrams and visual aids.
- Strong analytical capabilities to dissect business problems and identify underlying issues and opportunities.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships across multiple levels of an organization.
- Experience in industries such as commercial real estate or financial services, where technology impacts operational dimensions.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, multinational, multi‑service line environment, able to adjust strategies as conditions change.
- Certifications in strategic management, business analysis, or data management are advantageous.
Compensation & Location
Hybrid Toronto / Hybrid Vancouver
Approximate Salary Range: $121,500 to $135,000 CAD.
