Academic Scheduling Advisor

Job Responsibility:

Reporting to the Student System Coordinator, the Academic Scheduling Advisor is responsible for academic scheduling and related duties in support of the Registrar's Office.

The Academic Scheduling Advisor is a key resource to support academic scheduling and classroom and academic space allocation, bridging the application of academic planning and procedures, record management and scheduling within the capabilities of EMS Campus to support space allocation. Working with minimal supervision, the Academic Scheduling Advisor works with Campus Services, Operations and Resilience and other key operational units to ensure that classroom space is allocated appropriately in order to meet the specific needs of the many and varied academic programs. In addition to the operation of the academic scheduling software and the provision of first level support and assistance to academic schedulers, the Academic Scheduling Advisor periodically configures and tests the system, oversees data integrity, and creates and maintains business processes and training materials related to timetables and classroom allocation. Along with this work, the Academic Scheduling Advisor may provide some administrative registrarial support to the Registrar's office including assisting with graduation and/or convocation processes, backing up the Student System Administrator, project work or other duties as required.

Job Requirements

• An undergraduate degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 3 years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• A working knowledge of common campus-specific and other computer application programs, particularly the student information systems for degree-credit and non-credit academic programming;
• Above-average ability to quickly gain proficiency with a software product;
• Strong written and verbal communications skills;
• Solid interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff;
• Ability to work independently as well as on a team;
• Ability to comprehend and communicate technically complex concepts in plain language;
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
• Solid organizational skills and ability to multitask;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Proven ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Demonstrated initiative to recognize potential improvements and act on them;

Preference may be given to candidates with EMS software experience.

Additional Information This is a regular, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. This position has been evaluated at MPT-A with a salary range of $64,409 (minimum) to $75,677 (midpoint) to $86,945 (maximum) per annum. Employment offers will normally be made between the minimum and midpoint of the range and are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
