Deliver compassionate care in urgent situations from the Emergency Department's Psychiatric Unit. In this essential role, you will assist patients facing mental health crises with evaluation, intervention, and coordination of community services. Collaborating closely with a dedicated team, your focus will be on recovery-oriented care and patient stabilization, ensuring safety and well-being. Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate patients' mental health and substance use needs
• Provide emergency care and crisis interventions
• Coordinate patient flow across care providers and units
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for patient records
• Contribute to team planning and development efforts Requirements:
• Current BCCNM nursing registration required
• Minimum of two years in mental health nursing
• Strong assessment and intervention capabilities
• Knowledge of harm reduction techniques and management
• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills Utilize your nursing skills in an agile psychiatric emergency setting to enhance patient outcomes at Vancouver Coastal Health.
