Legal Counsel For University Of Ottawa Quebec (Quebec City)
University of Ottawa
Lead legal operations at the University of Ottawa as a Legal Counsel. Provide expert advice on corporate law, research agreements, and intellectual property in this full time role in Ottawa. The University of Ottawa is seeking a Legal Counsel to work closely with senior administrators.
As a key member of the Legal Services team, you will manage complex transactions, advise on institutional partnerships, and navigate legal challenges impacting the university's research initiatives. This position requires robust communication skills in both English and French, as well as significant experience in corporate and commercial law.
Key Responsibilities Represent the University in legal proceedings and negotiations
Draft and review contracts for research and commercial activities
Advise on intellectual property and compliance matters
Conduct legal research and provide timely legal opinions
Manage outside counsel and prioritize legal objectives
Requirements LL.B or J.D. and member of the Law Society of Ontario
Minimum 10 years of legal experience
Proven expertise in contract and administrative law
Robust analytical and negotiation skills
