Part Time Optometric Office Assistant

Job Responsibility:
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and support to our optometrists. You will assist with various tasks, including reception, performing preliminary pre-testing, eyewear assistance, and ensuring a smooth flow of operations within the office. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a passion for helping others in a medical setting.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in procedures at the front desk.
- Conduct preliminary eye tests
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR)
- Provide information about eyewear options and assist patients with retail sales of optical products.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and usage. (Will provide training)
- Schedule appointments and follow up with patients regarding their visits.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office environment.
- Collaborate with the optometric team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office or optical setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with experience in sales or retail sales preferred.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems is beneficial but must be comfortable with a computer.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective patient interaction.
